Two Sisters Wine
Dressed Up Red 2008
The Two Sisters winemaking adventure was quite an experience. We went to a wonderful local business Vintages to select the wine we would use for our 2008 Christmas gifts for our customers. This was really a tasting event. We knew we wanted to offer a red and, after tasting everything (it's a tough job, but someone has to do it), selected a lovely Valpocella, or as some say, Valpolicella. After about six weeks, Vintages called us to say that our wine was ready to be bottled. That's where it got a little crazy. We enlisted the help of our friend Dan and the three of us set to work bottling the wine, which we named Dressed Up Red. Jean put the wine into the bottles, Dan ran the corking machine, and Jane put the seals on. It was a bit like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory. We laughed our heads off. Wish we had photos to share, but we didn't think to bring a camera.
Instead, we'll share our 2008 label for Dressed Up Red, and a couple of photos of the finished product. We packaged these in wine bags and delivered them to our local customers. We felt like Santa's elves, especially because it was freezing (ten degrees) and windy the day we delivered the wine. Oh the things Santa must endure!
You can count on a 2009 wine, because this was just too much fun. Besides, we have lots of embarrassing photos of us as kids to use on labels.
