Rock n Rollers
Our Spin on
Mosaic Bowling Balls
All Rock n Rollers had previous lives as working bowling balls, rolling down hardwood alleys, crashing into bowling pins, staying up late especially on Saturday nights and working every weekend. It was good honest work, but over time, as they lost their luster these hard workers were retired and sent to where ever it is old bowling balls go.
Enter Two Sisters Mosaics. We created Rock n Rollers to rescue used bowling balls from the certain oblivion of living out their golden years in any number of unsavory locations: the county landfill, someone's basement or garage, or bouncing around the country from one garage sale or flea market to another.
We transform them, like Cinderella ready to meet her prince, into gorgeous art for home and garden.
Why the Name?
We listen to music while we work in our studio - mostly country, a little blues and of course, rock and roll. Hence the name "Rock n Rollers" and the titles for many of the pieces.

It's Not Easy Being Green - NFS
Private Collection
This commissioned mosaic gazing ball was created for a customer using her own bowling ball that she aptly named "Old Green." She requested earth tones that (of course) used some green. As we began working on the piece, we found that it wasn't always so easy to stick to green. After all, the earth has many, many colors! Hence the title. When she saw the gazing ball, our customer deemed it "too pretty to put outside" and promptly gave it a place of honor beside the fireplace. A serpentine line of green mirror tile edged with sky blue glass tile circle the globe and lead the viewer around the ball. Other shades of copper, deep blue and multiple greens complete the piece.
Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend
Private Collection NFS
For this commissioned piece, our customer selected the tiles, and boy oh boy did she do a good job! Mirror, copper mirror, gold and a funky little iridescent root beer tile give this Rock 'n Roller its flare.
This ball actually came with a pair of sunglasses, because, well, we didn't want to be responsible for blinding someone when the sun hit that ball.
A note from our satisfied customer:
Jean and Jane,
Our globe is so happy and sparkly on the deck - and so dimensional in the sun. Beautiful job! Thank you so much!
My Yin Your Yang
NFS, Private Collection
